Mychal Thompson praised NBA star Magic Johnson, saying the Los Angeles Lakers star wanted to crush his opponents like basketball star Michael Jordan did.

Basketball player Magic Johnson earned his reputation as one of the greatest NBA players of all time and is considered one of the greatest Los Angeles Lakers ballers of all time. He was one of the most influential ballers of his time, both on and off the court.

Johnson played 13 seasons for the Lakers and was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996 and was named to the NBA team for the Lakers’ 75th NBA draft in 2021.

He won a championship and an NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award in his rookie season and won four more championships with the Lakers in the 1980s. Johnson abruptly retired in 1991 after announcing that he had contracted HIV, but returned to play in the 1992 All-Star Game and won the All-Star MVP award.

He retired again for four years after protests from his teammates, but returned in 1996 at the age of 36 to play 32 games for the Lakers before retiring for the third and final time. Johnson once revealed he had six wives at the same time, making it clear it was a fantasy for him and those ladies, but also admitted he had to pay to have so much fun.

Thompson, the father of current Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson, was Johnson’s teammate for four years. He went to the NBA Finals and was part of two LA Lakers championship rosters that had “Junior” as the architects of these great teams.

“He smiled but he wasn’t your friend when the game was on. He wanted to destroy you, he wanted to destroy you, just like Jordan, just like Kobe, just like Bill Russell.”
