Kone Elevators India announced that it has installed the world’s largest passenger elevator at Jio World Centre, BKC in Mumbai.
The 16-ton, 5-stop elevator has a floor area of 25.78 square meters and can carry more than 200 people at a time. The company declined to reveal the price of this specially designed elevator.
Kone said it installed 188 elevators and escalators at Reliance Industries Ltd’s Jio World Center. Installed.
Amit Gossain, Managing Director, Kone Elevators India, said: “We are delighted to announce that the world’s largest passenger elevator is made by Kone, and it’s in India!”
“In addition to our team in India, the Kone Global team of large project experts worked with us to design and implement this extremely challenging and complex project,” he added.
The elevator offers visitors a glimpse into the sprawling world of Jio World Center which is developing into India’s new business and cultural center in BKC.
