Brabourne Stadium

Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai is one of the oldest cricket grounds in India. Established in 1937, the stadium has been the scene of some memorable moments in Indian cricket, including Sachin Tendulkar’s first top-flight double hundred. Brabourne Stadium has only played one T20I game and eleven Indian Premier League games in the past.

Brabourne is one of the three venues hosting the IPL 2022 games in Mumbai after the city was chosen along with Pune to host the new 10-team season.

With a capacity of 20,000 spectators, the stadium was a regular venue for Tests from 1948–972. International cricket returned to Brabourne when it hosted the ICC Champions Trophy in 2006 and hosted the inaugural T20I in India in 2007.

The stadium was also the home ground of the Mumbai Indians in the 2010 Indian Premier League (IPL) after Wankhede Stadium was unavailable as it was being rebuilt for the 2011 Cricket World Cup. It also hosted the 2014 IPL Eliminator game between Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings.

Brabourne Stadium has a capacity of 20,000. Church Gate End and Pavillion End are the two ends of the legendary venue.

Brabourne will host IPL games again when Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals meet on March 22nd.

The 10 teams play a total of 14 league games (7 home games and 7 away games), making a total of 70 league games, followed by the 4 playoff games. Each team plays 5 teams twice and the remaining 4 teams only once (2 only home and 2 only away).
