The NFL Draft, one of only two days on the NFL calendar that delivers good endorphins to every single NFL fan. The other is when Scott Hanson returns in Week 1 of the NFL Red Zone to say “seven hours of straight football” for the first time in nine months. In both moments, there is no concrete knowledge of how fans’ favorite teams will fare, just a sense of hope that something new is emanating.

No one knows if the players drafted in the first round tonight will have long NFL careers who are only pros. We need to see them against a field full of NFL players to make that assessment, regardless of what ESPN and NFL Network’s endless analyst panels have to say, and regardless of how fast the trades are. While it’s impossible to make a definitive assessment of these players’ NFL talent today, we can assess the way they presented themselves to the world on the biggest day of their lives — particularly their outfit choices.

The NFL draft may not be the MET Gala, but these young men are making their big introduction to the world on prime-time television. Their fits have absolutely evolved from Deion Sanders’ tracksuit in-house in 1989. So while some people rank these draft grades by people who have never played NFL football, I’m going to give people some hard data: Top five bouts of the first round of the 2022 NFL draft.
