Gasoline prices surpassed ₹100 per liter on Tuesday 29 March 2022 after raising prices by 80 paise per liter and 70 paise in the case of diesel, bringing the total price increase in a week to 4.80 ₹ per liter meant.

Petrol in Delhi now costs ₹100.21 per liter compared to ₹99.41 previously, while diesel prices have risen to Rs 91.47 from ₹90.77, according to a price release from the state-owned fuel distributors.

Tax rates have increased across the country and vary from state to state depending on the level of local taxation.

This is the seventh price hike since the end of a four and a half month pause in price revisions on March 22nd. On the first four occasions, prices were increased by 80 Paise per liter – the steepest one-day increase since the daily price revision was introduced in June 2017. In the following days, the price of petrol rose by 50 paise and 30 paise per liter, while diesel rose by 55 paise and 35 paise per liter.

Overall, petrol and diesel prices have risen by ₹4.80 per liter.
