Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) said on Saturday that at 6.40am a fire broke out at its Jeevan Seva building in Santacruz (W) which houses the SSS divisional office.

“It [the fire] was restricted to the 2nd floor of the building,” LIC said in a statement. “The fire department has deployed fire brigades to stop the fire and they are bringing it under control.”

“There are no casualties or issues affecting staff,” it said.

LIC stated that its data center, which is located nearby, is secure and precautions have been taken to protect its IT assets.

“All of our critical IT resources for delivering service to customers have adequate disaster recovery. Therefore, there would be no problem in providing services to customers,” the statement added
