Tata Motors Limited unveiled the new Nexon EV MAX on Wednesday with a starting price of 17.74 lakh (ex showroom across India). This new offering is aimed at customers looking for longer intercity journeys, the company said.

Equipped with a 40.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the Nexon EV Max offers 33% more battery capacity and a range of 437 km (under standard test conditions), ensuring uninterrupted travel between cities. It produces 105 kW (143 hp) of power and delivers an instantaneous 250 Nm of torque available at the touch of a button, resulting in 0-100 sprints in less than 9 seconds.

The vehicle will be available with a choice of a 3.3 kW charger or a 7.2 kW AC fast charger. The 7.2kW AC fast charger can be installed either at home or at work, reducing charging time to 6.5 hours. This vehicle will support a faster charge time of 0-80% in 56 minutes from any 50kW DC fast charger, the company said. The top model costs 19.24 lakh ex showroom.

Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said: “This SUV offers more range, more power and faster charging while improving overall driving efficiency and offers an uncompromised EV ownership experience.”

Nexon EV MAX is powered by high-voltage Ziptron technology and will be available in two trim levels – Nexon EV Max XZ+ and Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux. It will be available in 3 colors – Intensi-Teal (exclusive to Nexon EV MAX), Daytona Gray and Pristine White. The two-tone body color will be offered as standard, the company said.
