RailRestro, an e-catering service provider of Yescom India Softech Pvt. Ltd., has announced plans to expand its service to stations in southern India and the north-eastern states.

“At the moment we are increasing the number of stations for our services in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. We also plan to expand in the Northeast,” said Manish Chandra, Co-Founder and Director.

“We have built a team to develop partnerships with tour operators and travel agents for taking group orders,” he added.

He said the company has launched its own delivery fleet and said about 60 delivery partners have been deployed at top-performing stations and their numbers are increasing. The company is in the process of rolling out its own physical kiosks at train stations so people can order their food on the spot.

“We also plan to set up dedicated food counters at busy stations so that passengers can conveniently order food on the train. They can also visit our outlets and enjoy their cuisine there,” he added.

The company currently delivers around 12,000 meals a day, which is insignificant when compared to the potential of more than 10,000 meals a day on the rail network.
