Royal Challengers Bangalore star batter Kohli was seen in video approaching ex-CSK captain Dhoni before giving him a long hug. RCB’s official social media account also posted pictures of Dhoni and Kohli’s meeting with the caption: “Just a few LEGENDS catching up in training.”

Virat Kohli, who idolizes his former captain MS Dhoni, has shared many memorable moments with the world champion skipper. Kohli and Dhoni always had time to chat before or after IPL games in which they directed their respective franchises.

Notably, IPL 2021 marks the last time both Kohli and Dhoni remained captains in the moneyed league, which had capitalized on the star power of the country’s two cricket icons. Kohli gave up his captaincy at Royal Challengers Bangalore at the end of last season. Faf du Plessis has been named as Kohli’s successor for IPL 2022, while MS Dhoni handed the captaincy role of CSK to his teammate Ravindra Jadeja.

CSK and RCB have been placed in Virtual Group B and will face each other twice in the league stage. Their first game together will be on April 12th at DY Patil Stadium and they will face off on May 4th at MCA Stadium in Pune. The final of the IPL 2022 is scheduled to be held on May 29th.
