Indian wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan was kept under surveillance by BCCI’s medical team following his discharge from hospital in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. However, Ishan was ruled out of the 3rd T20I against Sri Lanka on Sunday in Dharamshala.

“Accompanied by a team doctor, he was taken to a local hospital last night for a check-up, where a CT scan was carried out. CT scan findings are normal.

“BCCI’s medical team will continue to closely monitor his signs of concussion,” BCCI said in a statement.

The most expensive player of the mega auction IPL 2022, Ishan Kishan, suffered a head injury during the second T20I against Sri Lanka and was taken to a hospital in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. The incident happened in the fourth over of India’s innings when Kishan was hit by Lahiru Kumara’s sharp bouncer.

The impact of the shipment caused Kishan to remove his helmet even as the Sri Lankan fielders rallied around him. Ishan was admitted to the normal ward as a precaution and had a CT scan done immediately after admission.

India can turn to Sanju Samson to keep the wicket and Mayank Agarwal to open batting in Ishan Kishan’s absence. Agarwal joined the Indian team after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the series due to a wrist injury. Agarwal had been quarantined along with the rest of the India Test team in Chandigarh to face Sri Lanka from March 4.

After defending an overall win and chasing a big one in the first two T20Is, India expect another positive result in the 3rd T20I in Dharamsala against Sri Lanka. India is currently on an 11-game winning streak in T20Is, the longest streak of its kind in this format. A win in the last T20I puts her in 12th place in a row, equaling the record for longest win streak in T20I currently held jointly by Afghanistan and Romania.
