Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) has signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Norway’s Eker Group and Vaanmoto to explore speedboat manufacturing opportunities.
These boats are high-end boats with smart, flexible solutions and excellent maneuverability, capable of operating from shore up to a top speed of 75 knots. The boats, with a crew of four and four passengers, are equipped with navigation and communication equipment.
The high-end platforms can easily take over the functions of search and rescue, surveillance, anti-submarine warfare, mine countermeasures, ambulance, fire brigade as well as port control and close protection.
Eker is a renowned Norwegian company that designs, builds and sells ferries, pleasure boats and commercial boats that are particularly suited to defense and law enforcement.
Vaanmoto is an Indian limited startup involved in the manufacture of automotive parts and accessories including engines, brakes, transmissions, axles, wheels and suspensions.
HSL is collaborating with Eker Group as well as Vaanmoto to manufacture the Atmanirbhar Bharat Initiative speedboats in India.
