Gasoline and diesel prices up 80 Paise

Gasoline and diesel prices were both increased by 80 paise per liter on Wednesday 30th March 2022, bringing the total price increase over the past nine days to 5.60 rupees per liter.

Petrol in Delhi now costs 101.01 rupees per liter from 100.21 rupees before, while diesel prices have risen to 92.27 rupees from 91.47 rupees per liter, according to a price announcement from the state fuel distributors.

Tax rates have increased nationwide and vary from state to state depending on the incidence of local taxation.

This is the ninth price hike since the end of a four and a half month pause in price revisions on March 22nd. On the first four occasions, prices were increased by 80 Paise per liter – the steepest one-day increase since the daily price revision was introduced in June 2017. In the following days, the price of petrol increased by 50 paise and 30 paise per liter, while the price of diesel increased by 55 paise and 35 paise per liter. The price of petrol was raised by 80 paise per liter on Tuesday and the price of diesel by 70 paise.

Overall, petrol and diesel rice are up Rs 5.60 per liter each.
