Elon Musk decides not to join the Twitter board

Elon Musk, the largest shareholder of Twitter Inc., has decided not to join the social media company’s board of directors, the company’s chief executive Parag Agrawal said in a tweet on Monday, April 11, 2022.

“Elon’s appointment to the board was to be officially announced on 4/9. (April 9) to take effect, but Elon informed the same morning that he will no longer be joining the board,” read Mr Agrawal’s statement.

Mr Agrawal ended Mr Musk as the largest shareholder and said the board would remain open to his contributions.

“There will be distractions, but our goals and priorities remain unchanged,” the statement added.

Mr. Musk had proposed changes to Twitter Blue’s premium subscription service on Saturday, including a price drop, an advertising ban and the ability to pay in cryptocurrency Dogecoin
