The New Orleans Pelicans were christened by Devin Booker on Tuesday night. The Suns’ shooting guard has been feeding babies en route to a 31-point first half. While the Suns’ offense was sizzling in the first half, their defense couldn’t slow the Pelicans’ offense, especially in the transition phase.

Midway through the third quarter, CJ McCollum threw a pass to Jaxson Hayes as he ran out in transition. Booker gave chase and while trying to make a play behind Hayes, who raised for a one-handed flush, Booker pinched his hamstring. The timeline for his return is yet to be determined, but a hamstring injury is devastating news. They can take weeks to fully recover and can flare up again at any moment.

The Pelicans aren’t putting the Suns in godliness just yet, but Booker’s hamstring has the Suns praying faithfully for a speedy recovery.

If you’ve ever wondered why Chris Paul is so testy the whole damn time, events like Booker’s injury that derailed his playoff runs are the reason. The basketball gods who rule the fortunes of the Hoopers may be after Sun’s Christopher Emmanuel Paul.

Why does everyone hate Chris?

For the past year, Phoenix is the center of the basketball universe, the basketball gods punishing the suns are trademarks. Pew Research polls show that most people believe in determinism, the idea that a higher power determines the course of their lives.

It’s absurd to think that Booker’s injury changed the outcome of this series. The Suns were stunned, but they’re still the dominant team. Also, the Pelicans seemingly decided this would be a short playoff run when they didn’t activate Zion Williamson for his first playoff action.

However, veteran official Scott Foster is a much more active thorn in the side of the Suns than Williamson. Foster, who has tsed Paul in the past, is essentially CP3’s Anti-Chris
