Changemakers are a rare breed. Most of us prefer the status quo, while some seek change without wanting to contribute. They just keep complaining about the current situation. Few actually do anything to bring about the change. And it is precisely these people that need to be supported and celebrated.
When Peppystores BusinessLine In 2018, entering its 25th year of publication, it decided to celebrate this important milestone by congratulating people who, through their pioneering efforts, have made our world a better place to live. Thus was born That BusinessLine Changemaker Awards. Since then, three editions of the awards have been held. The 2021 edition could not be held due to the pandemic.
Five categories
Work on the 2022 edition of the Changemaker Awards has begun. The nomination window opened to the public to nominate Changemakers on March 31st. The nomination can be made in five categories of awards – Changemaker – Social Transformation, Changemaker – Digital Transformation, Changemaker – Financial Transformation, Young Changemaker and Changemaker of the Year.
Many interesting nominations have been received so far. Those who would like to nominate themselves or someone they know have helped make life better can do so by accessing www.blchangemakers.com. The deadline for nominations is May 15th.
As soon as the nomination window is closed, the applications will be viewed and evaluated business line together with our knowledge partners (Deloitte and Ashoka). Shortlisted nominees are validated by our validation partner (Niiti Consulting) before the list is sent to the independent panel of judges to select the winner. The website contains details of previous winners and any other information one might need about the awards, eligibility criteria, details of different categories, previous winners and so on.
