Ramco Cements said on Wednesday that it is ahead of the industry in using green energy for all clinker production.
Ramco Cements has invested in the Waste Heat Recovery System (WHRS) to generate electricity on all three lines at its Jayanthipuram facility.
The last section of the preheater was commissioned on April 16, bringing the total output to 27 MW. In addition, everything was ready to commission the fifth integrated cement plant in Kurnool district along with 12.15 MW WHRS. That would bring total capacity to 39.15 MW, the company said in a statement.
Including wind energy used for production, Ramco Cements will meet 71% of its electricity needs for clinker production from green energy and was ahead of the industry in terms of utilization, Ramco added.
