Women’s World Cup 2022: While Harmanpreet Kaur became the first Indian batsman to hit more than 2 hundreds at the World Cup, Smriti Mandhana hit 123 as Indian batsmen dominated the West Indies attack in their 3rd game of the tournament on Saturday.

Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur set a number of records as they hit 100 each to help India score a 317/8 in their third game of the 2022 Women’s World Cup against the West Indies at Seddon Park in Hamilton. After a bland show against hosts New Zealand on Thursday, India stormed back with the racquet to prove their naysayers wrong.

While Smriti Mandhana hit 123 in just 119 balls, Harmanpreet Kaur smashed 109 jn 107 balls, hitting 23 boundaries and 4 sixes between them. The two added 184 runs stand for the 4th wicket as India rebounded from 78/3 to post a score of over 300.

The partnership of 184 between Smriti and Harmanpreet is the highest for India at the Women’s World Cup and their fourth highest tally in ODI cricket.

Meanwhile, Harmanrpeet Kaur also became the first Indian batsman to bat more than 2 hundreds at Women’s World Championships. She passed her batting partner Smriti Mandhana and captain MIthali Raj, who had a day off with the bat on Saturday against the West Indies. Both Smriti and Mithali have 2 hundreds each at the World Championships.
