Discussing the leadership styles of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson said all three captains have their own way of leading the team.

Watson said that Virat Kohli is superhuman, while MS Dhoni has ice running through his veins and Rohit Sharma is a natural leader. Notably, Watson played under Virat at Royal Challengers Bangalore and under Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“Virat as a leader has done incredible things, how he has been able to push players, he has such high expectations of himself and brings that to every game he plays. I think Virat is super human, he knows how to push players around him. Virat is an incredibly good guy, he’s a balanced character off the field, his knowledge is fascinating. It has been a great experience for me to work with Virat at RCB,” Watson said on the ICC Review.

“MS Dhoni has ice in his veins, his ability to take the pressure out of a team environment, he trusts his players, he makes sure everyone has faith in their abilities. He knows what works for him and the people around him. He trusts his instincts on the field, he trusts the players to do their research and do what is required on the field,” he added.

Last week, Rohit Sharma was named Test captain after Virat Kohli decided to step down as the longest format leader earlier this year.

“He’s such a natural and easy-going leader. I watched him closely as he led the Indians of Mumbai and nothing seemed to faze him. pressure situations. There is always a high expectation from Mumbai for the IPL,” Watson said.

“I love watching Rohit bat, he’s a graceful batsman and he brings that to his captaincy,” he added.

Rohit will lead the Indian Test side for the first time in the upcoming two-game series against Sri Lanka.
