Sterlite Power Transmission Limited announced that it has achieved financial close for its Nangalbibra-Bongaigaon Transmission Limited (NBTL) project by securing total debt financing of ₹440 crore from Tata Cleantech Capital, the first private sector climate finance institution in the Green banking network.

“This financial close will be achieved within two months of SPV’s acquisition of the project,” the company said in a statement.

Sterlite Power acquired NBTL SPV in December 2021 to undertake the interstate transmission system project. The project involves the construction of 300 ckt km of transmission lines and a greenfield substation with a conversion capacity of 320 MVA. The project will transfer over 1000MW of electricity from Assam to western parts of Meghalaya.
