Ninjacart Announces $25 Million Agri Seed Fund

Ninjacart, an agribusiness platform, has announced the launch of an Agri Seed Fund – a $25 million fund to support emerging and new-age startups in the agribusiness. To foster technological innovation and accelerate disruption, the company will make seed investments in startups, entrepreneurs and tech innovators that present unique, sustainable and tech-enabled solutions, it said. In addition, it invests in teams that have technical skills but may not have a solution or idea at the moment. The announcement comes as part of the company’s larger effort to accelerate the advancement of the agricultural landscape. Thirukumaran Nagarajan, Co-Founder and CEO, said: “It has always been our aspiration to strengthen the global agricultural ecosystem. By supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs and small businesses, we strive to grow together and build a sustainable future built on a strong foundation of productive collaboration.” The company also plans to invest in technology in its own operations. “Recent investments from Walmart and Flipkart have expanded the company’s goal of creating a digital agricultural ecosystem that enables all agricultural stakeholders, including farmers, resellers, retailers, consumers and supply chain participants, to buy and sell fresh produce in a transparent manner sell,” it added.
