MS Dhoni has resigned as captain of the Chennai Super Kings, shocking the entire cricket world. Ravindra Jadeja has been handed the baton to lead the defending champions in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League.
Newly appointed skipper Ravindra Jadeja is aware of MS Dhoni’s great legacy as captain of the Chennai Super Kings and grateful that the legendary skipper would be on hand in person for any type of advice as he helms the defending champions in IPL 2022.
“I feel good. At the same time, I have big footsteps to fill like Mahi Bhai, who has already left a great legacy, so I have to keep going,” said Ravindra Jadeja after taking over as CSK captain.
“I don’t have to worry too much because he’s here, so I’ll definitely go to him if I have any questions. He will be my contact, he was and still is today. I’m not too worried. So thank you all for your wishes and love Cheers,” added Jadeja.

Under Dhoni’s captaincy, CSK won the 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021 Indian Premier League titles and the 2010 and 2014 Champions League T20 titles. MS Dhoni became the first player to play 200 T20 matches for Super Kings.
Although the inspirational leader continued to play in the IPL after announcing his international retirement in his inimitable style, his decision to hand over the CSK leadership to Jadeja didn’t come as a complete surprise.
Dhoni knew he couldn’t go on like this forever and 33-year-old Jadeja, who is at the peak of his ability, is up for the challenge. The southpaw was CSK’s number one pre-auction ahead of Dhoni, Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaekwad.
