IPL 2022 updated points table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap: RCB’s new skipper Faf du Plessis passed MS Dhoni to take pole position in the batting table with his fiery 57-ball 88 against the Punjab Kings on Sunday.

Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals and Mayank Agarwal’s Punjab Kings started Sunday with comfortable victories in the opening doubles game of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Mumbai Indians’ opening day troubles continued for their 10th consecutive season as they suffered a four-wicket loss to Delhi Capitals. And in the evening game the Punjab Kings shot down the 206 run target to end their third highest successful run chase against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Navi Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians opener Ishan Kishan passed the former MS Dhoni to take first place after playing an excellent 81-run knock against DC before RCB’s new skipper Faf du Plessis with his entertaining 57-ball 88 against Punjab to take first place. Dhoni is third while Delhi Capitals’ Lalit Yadav is fourth after his brave 48 against Mumbai.

Kuldeep Yadav made a match-winning debut as he won 3 for 18 against the Mumbai Indians and secured first place on better economy than CSK’s Dwayne Bravo. The duo of the Mumbai Indians Basil Thampi and Murugan Ashwin, who dented Delhi with their three and two wickets in the game, ranked third and fourth.
