Zimbabwean pacer Blessing Muzarabani will join Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the 2022 season as a replacement for England fast bowler Mark Wood.
Wood will not play for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022 after sustaining a right elbow injury during the first Test against West Indies in North Sound last week.
LSG has spent Rs 7.5 crore on Wood at the IPL Mega Auction in Bengaluru. The franchise has focused on a replacement. Muzarabani’s price is not yet known.
Notably, Wood had pulled out of the first Test against West Indies in North Sound competition, citing an elbow problem after throwing 17 overs in the first innings. He was left out of England’s XI for the second Test, with Saqib Mahmood making his Test debut as his replacement.
