Former finalists Delhi Capitals unveiled their new home kit for the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday. Delhi took to social media to take a look at their new kit, which is a nice improvement on their kit from last season.

The Delhi Capitals added red color to their original blue kit. The red covers the left shoulder while the rest of the kit is its signature blue colourway. The tiger symbol, which has been a staple of Delhi’s logo and kit in the past, has been given more space on the shirt.

“With an even dash of red and blue, the new kit exudes youthful and vibrant energy. While the red symbolizes the team’s courage on the field, the blue represents balance and composure. The tiger, an integral part of the DC logo, it’s bigger and bolder as the team prepares to roar again!” the Capitals said in a statement.

Delhi shared a video of the unveiling of their new kit, letting their captain Rishabh Pant, fast bowler Anrich Nortje and new signing David Warner pose with the new kit on Saturday.

The first kits were presented to selected Delhi Capitals fans at the team’s home ground, Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Additionally, select local kids, the DC Cubs, also received official jerseys as part of a surprise activity curated especially for them, the franchise added.

“It’s a new IPL cycle and we can’t wait to see our players in this brand new jersey,” said Vinod Bisht, interim CEO of Delhi Capitals.

“Supporting this team in their quest for glory is our army of fans, so it’s only fitting for us to make them a part of our journey every step of the way.”

The Delhi Capitals will kick off their 2022 10-team IPL season against five-time champions Mumbai Indians at Brabourne Stadium on March 27, a day after the opening match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
