The Chennai Super Kings are upset over the availability of their English all-rounder Moeen Ali for the Indian Premier League (IPL) opening game on March 26. Moeen Ali’s visa to India has not yet been approved and the England star is yet to depart India joins Chennai Super Kings.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told Peppystores that the franchise was unsure as to why Moeen’s visa approval was being delayed, but expressed confidence that the issue would be resolved soon.

“We spoke to him about the issue and he hopes the matter will be resolved soon. All the required documentation has been prepared but I don’t know why his visa approval is not forthcoming. As soon as he gets his visa, he will fly to India and join the team,” Viswanathan said.

CSK will open their campaign when they take on Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. CSK players trained in Surat ahead of the new season. While the likes of MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu started training earlier this month, the other local stars and foreign players have started arriving.

Players from India and overseas were also allowed to make bubble-to-bubble transfers. Rohit Sharma and his testing team members joined their respective IPL sides via bubble-to-bubble transfer after completing pink ball testing in Bengaluru.
