England left-arm pacesetter Tymal Mills is excited at the prospect of bowling alongside Indian star Jasprit Bumrah with the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL).

Mills, 29, a T20 specialist who has represented England in 12 games and won 11 wickets with a batting average of 22.7, has been bought by the five-time champions for Rs 1.5 crore to replace Trent Boult. With Jofra Archer absent, Mills is expected to play all games for his team.

“I had the opportunity to spend a bit of time with Bumrah during the World Cup. So I’m looking forward to playing with him,” Mills said in a video posted by Mumbai Indians.

“I’ve wanted to come back for a long time and I’m excited for the opportunity,” he added.

Mills, who previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2017, will also reunite with Mahela Jayawardene, his Southern Brave coach at The Hundred. The 29-year-old will look to do his best in both field restrictions and death overruns.

“I’m looking forward to meeting all my new teammates. Obviously (Mumbai Indians) are a great franchise. I’ve never played in Wankhede. This is my first time since 2017,” he added.

Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians also unveiled their kit for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. Mumbai Indians are the only team set to play home games as the league phase of the tournament will be played in Maharashtra from March 26th to May 22nd.

Mumbai Indians open their 2022 IPL campaign against Delhi Capitals on March 27.
