The company is introducing the industry’s first all-electric excavator – the JCB 19C-1E – at Excon

JCB India, a maker of earthmoving and construction equipment, said it has incorporated digital technology and is focusing on making products that use less fuel and require less maintenance.

Speaking at the Excon show here on Tuesday, Deepak Shetty, CEO and MD of JCB India said: “As running costs become more critical than ever, our products are designed to use less fuel and have lower maintenance costs, increasing profitability for our customers For this, the company has also integrated digital technologies such as telematics and parts app into its products and services, he added.

JCB India announced that it has unveiled the industry’s first all-electric excavator, the JCB 19C-1E, at Excon. The company also presented a range of products including a 22 tonne hydraulic excavator on the NXT platform specifically designed for Indian applications, a 4 tonne telescopic handler, an AJ48 D articulated boom lift and two new mini excavators – 35Z HD and 37C HD – for intelligent infrastructure.

JCB machines have been supporting the construction of infrastructure in various applications such as schools, hospitals and airports across the country for over four decades, Mr Shetty added.
