Indian batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the ongoing T20I series against Sri Lanka. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included Mayank Agarwal in India’s roster.

India have suffered further injury damage ahead of the start of the 2nd T20I against Sri Lanka as opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the series with a wrist injury. Gaikwad complained of right wrist pain ahead of the first T20I in Lucknow on Thursday and was evaluated by the BCCI Medical Team.

An MRI scan was later performed, followed by a specialist consultation. Ruturaj will now go to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further treatment of his injury.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included Mayank Agarwal in India’s squad for the remaining two T20Is. Mayank, who is part of the testing team, has joined the team in Dharamsala. He had a bladder to bladder transfer from Mohali to Dharamsala.

Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar are already out of the series with broken wrists and hamstring injuries respectively. India lead the three-game series 1-0 with the second game scheduled to be played in Dharamshala on Saturday.
