Indian stars Shreyas Iyer, Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma have been nominated by the ICC for February’s Player of the Month for Men’s and Women’s International Cricket.

The women’s nominees are New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr, Indian star veteran Mithali Raj and all-rounder Deepti Sharma. Shreyas Iyer was in unstoppable form in February and played a crucial role in India’s white ball dominance. He started the month with a player of the match-winning 80 against West Indies in the last ODI and a 16-ball 25 in the last T20I.

With India choosing to rest players and Suryakumar Yadav injured, Iyer was promoted to 3rd place in the T20I series against Sri Lanka. He hit three unbeaten fifties in three games and finished with 204 runs at a stunning 174.35 batting average and was named Player of the Series for his heroics. Mithali Raj was one of the few highlights for India in the ODI series against New Zealand. She was the highest run scorer for India and the second highest overall with 232 runs, including three fifties, with an average of 77.33 and a batting average of 82.56.

In the last ODI she played the role of finisher perfectly, going unbeaten at 54 as India chased 252 with four overs to go. With the win, India ensured they ended the series with a win from the box. Deepti Sharma excelled with both the racquet and the ball in the series against New Zealand. She took the most wickets (10) in the ODI series and was also skilled with the racquet, scoring 116 runs in five games. She grabbed a four-for in the second ODI and followed that up with a 69* in the next match.
