IBM implements omnichannel order management system for M&S India

Technology firm IBM said it would help British retailer Marks & Spencer Reliance India (M&S India) modernize its supply chain to enable seamless integration between its online and in-store businesses. This transformation project was the result of IBM’s collaboration with IBM Business Partner Acuver Consulting (Acuver) to help M&S India deliver an omnichannel order management system for faster time to market, improved order fulfillment capabilities and enhanced customer experience, IBM said in a statement. According to IBM, the solution is integrated with the Salesforce Commerce Cloud along with existing enterprise applications to create a seamless omnichannel shopping experience for M&S customers in India. The ability to view all available stock is designed to help M&S India improve stock productivity, cost efficiency and customer experience. “To thrive in a competitive consumer market like India, retailers are focused on building a dynamic and responsive supply chain that is connected to their ecosystem and processes,” said Viswanath Ramaswamy, Vice President, Technology, IBM Technology Sales, IBM India / South Asia . Referring to changing consumer dynamics, Vishal Kapil, Chief Technology Officer, Marks & Spencer India said the retailer has expanded its digital capabilities and modernized the technology stack with IBM Sterling supply chain solutions. According to IBM, companies around the world are focused on rebuilding their supply chains, modernizing them for control, integrity and increased agility to better meet customer demands.
