Daniel Sotelo & Natally Brookson case: A body discovered in Lake Michigan has been identified as that of a missing UIC student.

CHICAGO (WLS) — On Saturday, officials confirmed that a body discovered in Lake Michigan last week was that of Daniel Sotelo, one of two missing University of Illinois-Chicago students.

Daniel Sotelo, 26, was found dead on Sunday, May 22nd, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. Officials said the cause and manner of death are still under investigation.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times and Block Club Chicago, Sotelo and Brookson were dating and both attended UIC.

According to the medical examiner’s office, the reason and manner of his death are still under investigation.

Sotelo was last seen or heard from on April 29 in the 1700 block of South Racine Avenue in the Pilsen neighbourhood, according to a missing person notice posted by the Chicago Police Department on May 11.
