Adani Group develops Greenko for hydropower

Adani Group has partnered with Greenko Group to utilize their self-contained long-term hydroelectric power storage capacity for their facilities.

Under the terms of the partnership, Adani Group’s planned industrial complex in Gujarat will be provided with a fixed and turnkey renewable energy solution, including up to 1GW of 24/7 power supply, making it a green industrial complex unique in the world. it said in a joint statement on Monday.

Greenko said it has offered 6 GWh of long-term water storage capacity from its proprietary Off-Stream Closed-Loop Pumped Storage Project, which is being developed in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The group has an installed capacity base of 7.3 GW in solar, wind and hydro technologies spread across 100 projects in 15 states, delivering 20 billion units of renewable energy annually across the country, accounting for 1.5% to 2% of the total Indian electricity demand. It’s the world’s largest energy storage company, Greenko said.
